XXXIII Villaviciosa Homemade Cider Contest

It will take place on 11th of September in Villaviciosa

LA SIDRA.- Villaviciosa’s Town Hall has announced the 33rd Homemade Cider Contest. It will be held in Villaviciosa on 11th of September at 18 at the Main Square. This contest is open so any cider mill can participate as long as their facilities are in Asturies. To participate people will have to send 12 cider bottles properly labeled, sign in and following the current legislation on cider. Only a brand per cider mill we accepted and the terms will have to be respected.

If the variety is under the DOP Cider of Asturies, bottles will have to be labeled by the Council and if they come from casks not corked yet, an extra accreditation will be needed. 

Each cider mill will select 5 tasters and the 10 most voted will enter the pre-selection and of these, 5 will enter the finals.The cases will be stored in a cool and suitable place with acces restringed. The tastes will be blind. Thus it will not be accepted any bottle with any kind of defect or distinction.
